Our Rotary club is one of over 35,000 Rotary clubs that are located all over the world. We are part of a global organization of people who take action to improve their own communities and the world at large. As a global organization Rotary has seven main areas of focus:
Promoting peace – Fighting disease – Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene – Saving mothers and children – Supporting Education – Growing local economies – Ending polio forever
Learn more about Rotary:
We are an energetic and friendly group of people that meet once a week for breakfast. We enjoy great fellowship as we conduct our business. We also have phenominal guest speakers who give presentations on a wide range of interesting topics.
Many of the local projects that we do involve our members volunteering their time, effort, know-how, and sweat in order to make a positive impact on our community.
Some projects require significant financial support. Our club puts on some great fundraising events. While we do “pass the hat” from time to time, those fundraisers generate the vast majority of our funds for those projects.
Our international projects make a significant impact on the lives of the people directly served. Perhaps more importantly, they help to build peace and understanding between people of different nationalities, cultures, faiths and ethnic backgrounds.
We are also passionate about finding ways to give back right here in our home town. Some projects focus on helping one individual in need. Others focus on a larger group or community need.
Rotary is a great way to make new friends. Many friendships have formed at The Rotary Club of Petaluma Sunrise. We celebrate those friendships by putting on a wide variety of fellowship events, both formal and informal. We may go on a wine tasting trip, take some cooking lessons, have a barbeque, go go-cart racing, head out for a round of golf, do some hiking, or just meet up for some adult beverages at the end of the work day.
